About Me

Why do I officiate weddings? It’s easy—because I’ve loved weddings since I was a young child. I love small ones, big ones, simple ones, traditional ones, quirky ones, royal ones. You get the idea.

I’ve always believed that people who love each other should be able to form their own family–physically, emotionally, and legally. That’s why I perform weddings of all types—for LGBTQ+ couples or traditional ones, religious ceremonies or secular, including beliefs of a wide variety of traditions. If you prefer a secular ceremony, there’s no problem with that.

I am an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church and have performed over 250 weddings, always offering affordable, reliable services. My philosophy is to help each couple create the best possible ceremony and to perform it well.

I help couples create beautiful wedding ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, and vow renewals that represent their stories and love. Whether religious, secular, or a combination of traditions, your ceremony will reflect your joy, taste, and traditions beautifully.

What’s included:

Working via telephone and email with you to develop your story, background, beliefs, customs and traditions, ideas;
Creating your ceremony and working together to refine it to its final form;
Performing the ceremony;
Completing marriage license information and submitting it to the Register of Deeds.

Please note: this rate applies to ceremonies taking place within 20 miles of the State Capitol. I officiate weddings near and far, but contact me for travel rates beyond the 20 mile radius.

Additional services

Wedding rehearsals
Not every wedding requires a rehearsal, but it helps everyone involved in the ceremony better understand their role and the timing of things. Especially if you don’t have a wedding planner on your team, a rehearsal can be helpful in sorting things out ahead of the actual ceremony. My experience with many different types of weddings can help you anticipate issues and head them off at the rehearsal. An additional charge may apply.

How do we get started?

First, complete the contact form below as completely as possible and submit it to me. I will use your information to check my schedule and determine the charge for your ceremony. If you haven’t settled on a particular venue but can include the city where you will be married, that is a great help to me. I always respond within 24 hours to your inquiry.

What happens next?

If our schedules align for your ceremony, the next thing to do is to decide on a convenient time for both of you to contact me by phone. We will talk about your love story, the style of ceremony you want, and get down to details on each section of the ceremony. Once I have a good understanding of what you want, I will draft a ceremony and send it to you for review. This gives you a chance to see if I’m on the right track and allows an opportunity for changes. My goal is for you to love your ceremony as much as every other part of your wedding day. If we need to redraft several times to get it perfect, that’s perfectly all right.

How do I pay?

I accept cash payment or a check at the time of the ceremony. I am unable to accept credit/debit cards.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because I work on my own, I am flexible when it comes to cancellations. I have never cancelled on a couple, but fate has forced a few couples to cancel on me. I trust each couple to be as forthcoming with me on cancellations or postponements as possible. I don’t ask for any prepayment on your ceremony and trust you to give me as much notice as possible if plans change.
